After finishing a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering at UCI, I worked as a research fellow for the Singapore Eye Research Institute. Then, from 2010 through 2012 I was an assistant professor in a stem cell biology laboratory investigating radiation effects at the University of Tsukuba in Japan. There, I taught my research subject and English. Currently, I work at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Here, my primary responsibilities are as a science writer and editor.
