Had an easy time moving my stuff over to big Tex storage! Very clean and well maintained facility.

Nichole was kind enough to show up twenty minutes early on Sunday and stay ten minutes late while I returned the truck. She was super great, five stars for her. They offer a free truck rental once per rental contract. That's really nice, but I wish I'd known before I paid a bunch of money to install a trailer hitch on my car. They require renter's insurance. Not only do they require it, but they want you to show proof of it. Mine is through USAA, and USAA doesn't make it easy to provide evidence of off-site coverage (though they advertise it on their website). So Big Tex wanted to charge me a few more dollars a month for insurance. It was an unnecessary complication. The downside of the truck rental is that you have to show a fuel receipt to demonstrate you filled it back up. My house was 0.7 miles away, so I ended up putting something like a quarter of a gallon in the tank, and then spilling gas all over my hand. And yes, they wanted me to go fill it up again even though the odometer only showed one or two miles of driving. They also want you to provide a $150 *cash* deposit, which was complicated since I was leaving town the next morning at 5am, and wouldn't be able to easily retrieve it. I ended up having to get a slightly larger space than I initially reserved. The change process took ten minutes and Nichole was really nice about it.
