The Revenant Movie Review

The “Revenant” takes place in the Indian frontiers during a gruesome, frozen winter. The movie instills many emotions in the viewer through mass murders, vulnerability and a vengeful father and son relationship. Leonardo DiCaprio’s performance won him an Academy Award for Best Actor of the year. His amazing talent is best shown in the scene where he fights off a bear, Indians and his fellow men. The “Revenant” has a cool tone of cinematography filled with shadows, gray tones and based in snowy landscapes. The storyline is very easy to follow and the movie is not as fast paced as it would appear; however, during the slow portions, Leonardo fills the time with emotions of ravenous anger, pain, and strength. The movie is entirely based on emotion expressed through the scenes of dying and intense love for his son. The cinematography all on its own makes this movie worth seeing as it captures the setting in a very beautiful manner. The movie’s great landscape cinematography and award winning acting makes it an absolute must see.
