Job Summary

Position is responsible for assisting with accounting activities including; general ledger monthly close-out, daily accounting duties, clerical duties, and basic accounting functions.

This Accounting Clerk position is an entry level position. The person in this role will be responsible for submitting invoices for the Physician Enterprise, processing and scanning invoices and support manager on additional projects as assigned.

Desired Skill Sets:
  • Eager to learn Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Payable experience a plus
  • Experience with Excel, knowledge of V Lookup and Pivot tables a plus

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Licenses/Certifications: (None)

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
  • One (1)year of accounting related experience
  • PC skills including Microsoft Office, as well as the ability to use a calculator
  • Strong analytical skills

Principal Accountabilities
  • Supports Accounting Staff with month-end close activities including; preparation and input of journal entries.
  • Assists in preparing basic financial analyses.
  • Assists with general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Collects information for analyses and prepares reports for distribution.
  • Assists in the coordination of office tasks.
  • Special projects, as needed.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors, adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity of service.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
