Overview:Our long-term client relationship with NASA has led to a need for a Systems and Integration Engineering Intern Summer 2022 on the Human Space Flight Technical Integration (HSFTIC)contract at Johnson Space Center (Houston, TX). HSFTIC supports multiple human spaceflight programs by providing products and services for mission and program technical integration activities. This includes the necessary infrastructure functions for the International Space Station (ISS), Orion and Gateway programs, with the potential for supporting additional human spaceflight programs or projects via task orders.Barrios Technology Ltd. is a woman-owned and operated small business headquartered in Houston, Texas. We provide a full spectrum of engineering, operations and related technology services in support of the aerospace community and have successfully supported NASA for 40 years.Barrios Technology is the prime contractor for the Human Space Flight Technical Integration (HSFTIC) contract, Consolidated Program Support Services (CPSS) Project Coordination (PC)and Research, Engineering, Mission Integration Services (REMIS) contracts along with subcontractor support to multiple prime contractors as listed below. Barrios employees have the opportunity to contribute to the US Space Program through work on the International Space Station (ISS), Orion, Space Launch System and Exploration programs. Our primary locations are at NASAs Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, TX and the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, AL. This is a unique opportunity for a college student (Sophomore by credit or higher) to have an internship supporting the U.S. Space Program that supports all the human spaceflight programs: the International Space Stations (ISS); Commercial Crew; Gateway; and Orion. This internship will be systems integration and engineering, supporting one of the various human spaceflight teams, conducting mission analysis and systems integration across multiple disciplines.The goal of this role is to introduce the successful candidate to multiple integration areas on the HSFTIC team while performing a project in a designated area to help with mission success. Each candidate will present an out-brief at the end of the internship.The Systems and Integration Engineering Intern Summer 2022 will have an opportunity to:Support International Space Station (ISS) boards and panels, ISS Increment systems and payload planning and execution, cargo manifesting, resource and requirement management, and strategic through execute level research planning.Support data analysis, integration and presentation, problem resolution, strategic and programmatic assessments, process improvements and continued innovation, tool development, project management, and systems and project engineering. Support requirements collection and management.Support integrated modeling projects.Perform all other assigned duties.Qualifications:**This is an intermittent internship opportunity - the Systems and Integration Engineering Intern Summer 2022 is scheduled for May 2022 August 2022****An unofficial transcript is required at the time of application. Please upload your transcript in addition to a resume.**Required Education/Experience/Skills:Students must be activelyenrolled in a Bachelor's or advanced degreed program in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering); Math; Science; Technology; or Computer Science from an accredited college or university.Sophomore credit equivalency (30-59 hours) with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).Excellent communication skills (in both written and verbal), integration, coordination and presentation skills.Excellent interpersonal and team working skills.
