Join our mission today.Position overview The Mission Systems Summer Engineering Project Program is our Elite Summer Program that has been around since 1995. This program aligns projects from various directorates that support research & partnerships on campus. During the summer each project is aligned with a technical mentor & a defined project plan & milestone. This project will empower a team of students to develop a new Filter Engine for our Cross Domain Solution (CDS) using the Rust programming language. The student team will be guided by mentors who are Subject Matter Experts in Filter Engine and Software Engineering technologies.ISR & Space Systems Houston is looking for an energetic and highly motivated candidate for its Engineering Organization. The Electrical Engineering Intern will be responsible for Mechanical Engineering activities associated with installation, design, development, and qualification testing or field support of components for the Space Suit Extravehicular Mobility unit (EMU), the Universal Waste Management System (UWMS) for NASA's Crew Exploration Vehicle, or life support assemblies on board NASA's International Space Station.Primary Responsibilities: This position will provide support for a variety of electronic elevator components and electrical systems. Additionally will include the development of new components and features. The position will play a crucial role in new product development, maintaining product integrity, evaluating change opportunities, and integrating new component designs into existing systems.The candidate should and/or be trained to be able to read and understand schematics and wiring diagrams, analyze complex problems to identify root cause and develop innovative solutions.Ability to work across disciplines with mechanical engineers, software engineers, manufacturing personnel, and field personnel is required.eLectrical engineering background (wiring diagrams, systems analysis, motor and control applications, and control logic)Develop Knowledge of ECAD tools (Cadence, E3, etc.)Develop Experience with test and measurement equipmentBasic Qualifications: Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.Must be a U.S. CitizenNothing matters more to Collins Aerospace than our strong ethical and safety commitments.
