POSITION SUMMARY Current internship positions are available in our Alaska, L48, Global Wells and Global Projects organizations. Our internships provide opportunities to learn and apply engineering skills. Successful candidates will receive diversified training through on-the-job assignments using the technical skills acquired in college. Assigned projects will develop the interns both technically and professionally. Each intern will be assigned a technical mentor and supervisor to ensure a productive and engaging assignment. Interns are typically matched to one of the Upstream disciplines including Reservoir, Production, Facilities, Drilling, Completions, Project, or Electrical Engineering. Within that discipline, the intern will be responsible for completing one or more projects during the summer. As an example, past projects have included developing improved forecasting techniques for unconventional reservoirs, artificial lift optimization, facility design modifications to improve air quality, drill bit design/selection, sand production mitigation and infrastructure benchmarking. The intern will work within established engineering and/or operations teams. The Alaska & L48 Engineering internship assignments will be in person only and locations will vary based on Phase 1 and Phase 2 internships. Phase 1 Internships are for students with two or more summers remaining before graduation. Assignment locations include Anchorage, Alaska; Kenedy, Texas; Dickinson, North Dakota; and the Permian Basin (Loving, New Mexico; Midland, Texas or Goldsmith, Texas) Phase 2 Internships are for students with one summer remaining before graduation. Assigned projects are typically based in Houston, Texas, Midland, Texas or Anchorage, Alaska The Global Wells and Global Projects Engineering internship assignments will be in person only and located in Houston, Texas or Midland, Texas. The preferred internship duration is 12 to 13 weeks with a 10-week minimum requirement. BASIC/REQUIRED: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as permanent resident, refugee or asylee and will not need sponsorship now or in the future Pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or foreign equivalent Current level in college: Freshman through Senior or Graduate Student Expected graduation date: Fall 2022 through Spring/Fall 2025 A minimum of ten (10) continuous weeks availability for internship PREFERRED: A minimum cumulative and major GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale Previous internships or co-ops in an energy related field Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Develops strong relationships based on trust and seeks opportunities to collaborate across the matrix/organizational boundaries to achieve business goals Demonstrates taking ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by courageously dealing with important problems, holding others accountable and standing up for what is right Demonstrates an understanding of how key financial and quantitative indicators impact the business ConocoPhillips will conduct interviews at many universities in the U.S. during the Fall of 2021.
