Are you up for the challenge? We're on the lookout for students enrolled in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related programs for a May 2022 internship.

Process Safety Engineering is responsible for managing process safety critical equipment and facility integrity programs and maintains system information across multiple facilities in our US Natural Gas pipelines to ensure compliance and integrity.

The role is based in Houston, TX.

Tasks could be:

  • Support engineers with engineering and inspection activities for tanks, pressure vessels, and overpressure protection equipment

  • Assist engineers in performing/reviewing relief valve and venting calculations for pressure vessels and tanks

  • Support changes to facility equipment with documentation of Management of Change activities

Minimum Qualifications

  • Actively enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent program, with at least six semesters of education complete and one semester remaining following your work term

  • Good written and oral communication skills

  • Good problem-solving skills

  • Experience of working in a team and on their own initiative

  • Able to read technical documentation such as such Piping & Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs) and technical reports

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and quick to learn new software

  • Strong interpersonal and communicative skills to work efficiently in a collaborative team environment

  • Exhibit a safety mindset, in a professional and personal setting

  • Must exhibit the TC Energy corporate values and incorporate them into work activities and initiatives: safety, responsibility, integrity and collaboration

  • Legally entitled to work in the U.S. permanently without requiring sponsorship

  • Committed to building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to accurately analyze information and deal with ambiguity

  • Experience working in a dynamic and challenging environment, and adaptable to changing priorities

  • Ability to multi-task effectively, with strong organizational and time management skills
