Work with other departments daily. Interact with Management Team, Accounting, Construction, Contractors, Suppliers, Sales and Vendors on an as-needed basis. Follow established procedures, practices and policies.


  • Create construction package through multiple phase releases for use by Builders in the field.
  • Create and place purchase orders.
  • Process work order and purchase order requests, including variances.
  • Reviews purchase requisitions and invoices for accuracy and completeness.
  • Provides support in follow-up activities and expedites delivery of goods.
  • Monitor material orders, deliveries and invoices to maintain a smooth and accurate process.
  • Confers with vendor representatives to obtain and provide product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
  • Communicates delivery schedules to Builders.
  • Work with Construction to assign jobs to builders by analyzing their current count and stage of the jobs.
  • Ability to develop excellent working relationships with internal and external customers, suppliers and contractors.
  • Customer service - When the needs of the company or its customers dictate, this job will entail whatever needs to be done that is assigned by a supervisor/manager and is within the employee's capability to deliver.


Critical Competencies and Skills:

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of building materials essential.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to compose effective and efficient reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to use tact and skill in dealing with other staff, vendors, and customers.
  • Ability to solve mathematical problems, such as percentages, spreads, margins, etc.
  • Skill in the use of a personal computer and various application programs.
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-stress environment.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Knowledge of Builder MT and BIM Pipeline preferred.
  • Proficient user of MS Office, Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Education and Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience in the homebuilding or similar industry preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • This is primarily a sedentary position that requires the ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, and lift up to 20 pounds or less.
  • Finger dexterity is required to operate a computer keyboard.
  • Must have the hand/eye coordination necessary to operate office business machines (calculator, phone, fax, copier, etc.) and a personal computer.
  • Hearing and speech sufficient to verbally communicate in person and on the telephone.
  • Mobility to frequently alternate between sitting, standing, and moving about the facilities.
