Entry Level International Space Station Thermal AnalystCompany:The Boeing CompanyJob ID:000#######6Date Posted:2021-09-21-07:00Location:USA - Houston, TX Qualifications:The International Space Program is looking for an Mechanical System & Design Analysis Engineer with an interest and aptitude in aerospace structural and mechanical systems and design. This requisition is looking to fill open positions for the ISS Passive Thermal Control Systems (PTCS) Team. The team primarily supports the International Space Station Program launch and on-orbit operations as well as new product development. Supports PTCS products for International Space Station (ISS) and its systems. Perform work across the product lifecycle, including supplier oversight. Supports development on new and innovative designs, materials, methods and processes. Provides expertise in support of proposal development, engineering tool development and documenting, and applies best practices. Position Responsibilities: Develops, integrates and documents mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design.Develops, maintains, or modifies mechanical and fluid system, component and installation designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Engineering tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.Performs, integrates and documents mechanical, fluid and thermal analyses and test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.Manages supplier development, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals.Develops new design/analysis processes and tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.Provide thermal expertise and engineering support to sustaining the on-orbit International Space Station, and to related hardware development projects.Perform thermal modeling and analysis (primarily in Thermal Desktop) to characterize on-orbit operations, monitoring real-time telemetry, and investigating and resolving anomalies.This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Experience with the ISS (International Space Station) Program and/or satellites.Experience with MATLAB for data analysis and/or modeling and simulationExperience with Thermal Modeling and Analysis.Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Relocation:Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
