ENGIE is looking for motivated students working towards a career in resource assessment for renewable energy, who can assist with the resource assessment capabilities of ENGIE North America's wind, solar, and battery storage project development platform. The intern will work directly with ENGIE resource assessment professionals to provide support for the growing portfolio of grid-scale projects in North America and can expect to gain resource assessment and data management skills, exposure to current renewable energy policy, and an understanding of wind and solar project development.Successful candidates will have taken college-level courses in atmospheric science, physics, engineering, math or statistics with a strong focus on processing meteorological data.This position is open to the Houston, TX or Santa Barbara, CA areas.What you'll do: Support quality control and processing of meteorological data Monitor the health of meteorological towers Assist with renewable energy production estimates Validate power performance measurements Support data analytics related to renewable industryWhat you bring: Currently enrolled as a junior or senior (by end of spring semester) working toward a Bachelor's degree in atmospheric science, physics, engineering, math, statistics or related field, or a graduate student with meteorological / big data processing experience in a closely related field Possess a 3.0 GPA or higher & able to work up to 20 hours per week Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to think analytically, present ideas professionally, and work in project teams Direct experience in wind / solar resource data processing preferred Experience in using Windographer, Openwind, Pvsyst a plus Experience with MS Excel macros and VBA scripting a plus Familiarity with coding languages (SQL, Python, R) a plusWhy ENGIE?ENGIE North America isn't just participating in the Zero-Carbon Transition, we're leading it!
