Job SummarySupport the ongoing improvements of existing products by providing technical support to Lamons manufacturing and technical teams. The industrial engineering intern will also support projects to document and minimize production issues and costs while ensuring products meet quality standards. They will support the design and development of manufacturing routes to maximize effectiveness, efficiency, and space. The industrial engineering intern will also make sure the company complies with all industry standards for safety while meeting design standards and guidelines. They will also work in a support role as needed on less complex projects.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesProviding industrial engineering support and maintain a working knowledge of all active projects.Review production information to understand methods and activities in manufacturing and services. This includes, but is not limited to, production schedules, process flows and engineering specs. Aid in design control systems to minimize and resolve production issues and project costs. Aid in creating systems and planning production to ensure all products meet quality control standards. Aid in developing standards for production and design by working with clients and managementUsing AutoCAD or similar programs to complete layout projects as assigned.Coordinate samples for testing new designs and changes to existing products.Responsible for completing projects on scheduleJob SpecificationsSkillsThe ability to coordinate multiple projects efficiently and on scheduleKnowledge of production processes, costs, quality control, raw materials, and other methods for maximizing the efficient manufacture and distribution of goods. Knowledge of machines and tools, their designs, uses, repair and maintenance. Ability to design and understand precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Knowledge of the ways various systems interact and how changes in operations, the environment and other conditions will affect outcomeThe ability to learn, develop, and apply technical knowledge and skillsGood written and oral communication skillsDemonstrate the ability to work effectively with a variety of work groupsProficiency in technical and office softwareProficiency and competence in AutoCAD software desirableEducationPursuing a bachelors degree in engineering; industrial engineering preferred, though all types will be considered.
