Over a 90-day period, this experience will immerse Interns into the day to day operations of an oil and gas Engineer here at Universal.This position will work under the direction of the District Engineer or Director of Technical Services depending on the assignment. The final assignment will be determined based on the identified candidate's overall interest in comparison to the department needs.Detailed Description:Complete New Hire Orientation and Safety OrientationComplete tasks associated with the internal CrossFlo Engineering Training ProgramComplete hands on day to day work/tasks of a Field Operations and Technical EngineerAssist with inventory of testing equipment as well as quality control testing in field and troubleshooting other technical issuesAssist with the preparation of Post Job Reports and regulatory disclosure reportsWork in location data van to understand the coordination of on-site logistics and analyze/interpret job data accordinglyAssist with projects and tasks within the following departments:OperationsOperate and maintain pressure pumping equipment on-sitePerform quality control tasks related to water, additives, and proppantLearn how to use data acquisition softwareTechnical ServicesPulling and analyzing internal organization data generated at the well site to monitor spread productivity and efficiency for customers (PTEN+)Build job files for Operations in FIELDPROAttend sales calls and assist with customer requestsTechnologyOverview of equipment upgrades being implementedAssist with updates to OffSite Frac and PTEN+Work with Engineers in the Data CenterMaintenancePerform routine maintenance on equipment at the shop and on-site, as neededAssist in cost saving initiativesOperations SupportWork with Product Champions on equipment and procedure updatesCompile and analyze equipment cost and performance dataAttend any internal training and/or technical schools offeredAssist with maintenance, engineering and/or operational needs/issues, as needed, including performing tasks with Equipment Operators, Field Mechanics, Electronic Technicians & Field EngineersExperience crew quarter living and van/bus transportation to and from the job siteComplete a technical project and present it to Senior LeadershipPerform other related duties as assignedJob Requirements:Understand general engineering fundamentals and principlesPerform higher level algebraic calculations for job related purposesDemonstrate excellent computer skillsAbility to work well with others and work independently when requiredDemonstrate the ability to operate and maintain equipmentDemonstrate clear communication skills including ability to read, write and speak English, and to promptly follow verbal and written directions in English along with the ability to establish and maintain effective rapport with all employees at different levels both in the office and in the fieldWillingness and ability to work 14 - 16-hour days in different weather conditionsPossess strong organizational skills and multi-task efficientlyDemonstrate professionalism and a strong desire to learnAbility to travel as needed to other offices and work sites, occasionally requiring extended travel to remote locations and/or overnight stay(s) outside normal office areaMust be able to pass an Essential Functions Test (Pre-Employment Physical)Must be able to meet physical requirements of the job including but not limited to working on your feet, climbing ladders, working outdoors and liftingMinimum Qualifications:Pursuing a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) related degreeMust have and maintain valid state-issued driver's license, be eligible to drive a Company vehicle and meet the requirements of the Company's vehicle program, policy and/or guidelinesPreferred Qualifications:Previous technical internship/job experienceHands-on experience (may or may not be job related)Mechanically inclinedAdditional Details:Employee must work with an emphasis on safety for themselves and others, including coworkers and third parties, including wearing any required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all designated times. This position requires the employee to work outdoors for long periods of time in all types of weather conditions typical of the area where the job is located, including dust, humidity, sleet, snow, rain, mud, cold, heat, wind, and other inclement weather. Working conditions for this position may involve exposure to varying outdoor conditions, including environmental chemicals, gases, noise, dampness, fumes, radiation, and heights.
