The role reports to the Head of Project Management and Engineering and is located in Houston, Texas.

A world class team of engineers and project managers with responsibility for North and South American project execution, contract compliance, customer satisfaction and financial return for the most complex and largest projects in ABB Marine and Ports division involving major technical and financial commitments.

Your responsibilities

  • Assist engineering team with document creation, review and submission.
  • Assist engineering team with research on engineering principals.
  • Assist engineering team with regulatory requirements research. (USCG, Class Society, etc.).
  • Assist engineering team with calculations and verifications needed to confirm drawing validity, etc.
  • Actively document process and goals to generate a Standard Operating Procedure for future interns.
  • At conclusion of internship, present a lessons-learned presentation to assist our core team with continuous improvement.


Your background

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Must be pursuing a bachelor s degree in the US majoring in electrical engineering or automation engineering with a graduation date between December 2021 and May 2023.
  • Must be able to report to the assignment remotely 75% of the time and on-site 25% of the time.
  • Applicants with a strong desire to be involved with green energy solutions to include energy storage preferred.
  • Applicants with a background in maritime or a general understanding of challenges in the marine environment preferred.
  • Applicant must be self-driven and ready to set goals and drive to completion of daily tasking and program long research and present results to executive team.
  • Must be currently authorized to work for ABB in the US and not require future visa sponsorship.
