KEY RESPONSIBILITIES* Leads and participates on Procurement special projects* Maintains basic to intermediate knowledge of system support tools such as; SAP, E-Sourcing, Tableau, Ariba CLM, etc.* Operates with a high degree of knowledge regarding suppliers, internal customers, manufacturing and market/industry trends* Attends trainings in the different areas as specified in the intern role* Demonstrates the ability to work efficiently in an analytical role* *Support will be provided by staff and management, while functioning on an independent basis*TEAM* Reports to: Corporate Procurement Organization, with direct oversight by Sr. Commodity Manager.* Team Members: Commodity Management StaffREQUIRED EXPERIENCE* Must be at least 18 years of age* Must be working towards a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or an equivalent* Overall GPA of a 3.0 or greater* Experience with spreadsheets and MS Office applicationsPREFERRED EXPERIENCE* Some ERP system experience* Experience with Procurement / Supply Chain analytics* Previous work experience via internship or co-opREQUIRED SKILLS* Strong decision making skills, and use of sound logic to communicate effectively* Should be able to prioritize and perform responsibilities* Results driven with analytical skills and the desire to simplify/improve current process and practicesTARGETED OUTCOMES* Project completion from start to finish* Presentation to management* Cost savings based on tactical sourcing initiatives and contract negotiationsWhy work at Ascend?Our vision is to be the recognized leader in the nylon 6,6 value chain, creating new possibilities with PA66 for everyone, everywhere, every day.
