This position is based out of Houston, TX. (Energy Corridor)
Responsibilities
Define process safety requirements for a project based on client requirements, codes, regulations and industry practices. Provide fire protection design, fire hazard analysis and other technical safety services for industrial Oil and Gas facilities in order to determine hazards and designate appropriate active and passive fire protection schemes during design and construction of these facilities. Responsible to review scope of work and provide necessary input in areas of process safety and fire protection for new project proposals. Able to analyze data and understands the relationships and correlations. Proactive about learning new information and skills. Initiates development of personal objectives aligned with those of the organization. Seeks feedback and uses it effectively. Has good understanding of the complete design and has good input into ways of improving the design. Utilize codes and standards to complete assignments. Handles various assignments, including rework, in timely manner to meet schedule deadlines. Performs assigned work efficiently and effectively to maximize person productivity. Carries out assignments carefully while focused on details. Follows policies, procedures, safety guidelines on their work. Qualifications
Ability to travel or relocate as needed
Ability to work full-time during the summer (approximately May-August)
Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering minimum required.
Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time
