Description

The HBHH Per Diem Outpatient Therapist (LPC, LPC Intern, LMSW, and LCSW) is responsible for service provision of HBHH Outpatient Program.

These services include patient coordination of care from inpatient to outpatient, assessing the overall clinical needs of the patient utilizing specialized knowledge and skills, conducting initial patient clinical interviews and completing intake assessments and associated admission paperwork, participating in interdisciplinary treatment team planning, and anticipating the outcomes of clinical interventions. Additional responsibilities associated with this position may include individual, family and group therapy as clinically indicated, developing treatment plans, contributing to discharge planning, and collaborating with Utilization Review staff.

Requirements

Education: Minimal education requirements include Masters degree in Clinical Counseling or Social Work.

Licensure: This position requires licensure (LPC, LPC Intern, LMSW, and LCSW) in the State of Texas.

Experience: Experience providing group/individual/family therapy, conducting clinical interviews, and coordinating/contributing to case management/social work services. Experience interacting with a diverse population of individuals while employing a solid customer service philosophy and orientation.

Communications Skills: Must possess excellent oral communication skills that facilitate confident and effective communication with all patients and potential patients, clinicians, and both internal (hospital staff) and external referral sources. These excellent communication skills must apply to interactions with all age groups, populations, and individuals within the practice and hospital. Billingual preffered.

Computer/Typing Skills: Must possess basic computer knowledge to effectively navigate and use the electronic medical record/practice management/billing system.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position may afford opportunity to supervise student trainees.

Physical Demands: This position requires visual acuity necessary to read computer screens, written instructions, computer printouts, and numerical and statistical information.

Working Environment: This position requires working in well-lighted, heated and air-conditioned office environment.

Continuing Education: This position requires attendance at the initial hospital orientation upon hire and attendance at annual mandatory in services as defined by the outpatient practice and/or hospital.

Age Appropriateness: This position requires the ability to apply knowledge of child/adolescent/adult development theories, depending on the population specific to the program for which the individual was hired, to interactions with patients and their families.
