WSP is currently initiating a search for a **Traffic Intern** for our **Houston, Texas** office on either a Full-Time or Part-Time basis. **Duties and Responsibilities:** + Assist with traffic analysis and recommendations for safety and operational intersection improvements + Designing intersections, bike facilities and traffic signals using CADD software + Perform field visits to assist with data collection and developing inventories + Preparing quantity summaries and cost estimates for transportation projects + Writing technical reports summarizing traffic engineering improvements + Working with signal timing databases to remotely monitor and improve signal operations + Developing graphics, plans, presentations, and other deliverables for demonstration to our clients and the public + Gathering information on external projects for coordination with ongoing internal projects Talent is the essence of meeting our client's objectives, goals and challenges. If this sounds like a fit for you, we'd love to have that first discussion of you joining our team. > # Job Requirements > **Minimum Qualifications:** + Current standing as a Rising Sophomore, Junior, Senior or Graduate student actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering Undergraduate or Graduate program + Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework + Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint + Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills + Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products + The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately. **Preferred Qualifications** + Local candidates preferred. + Prior experience or internship in civil, transportation, or traffic engineering + Prior experience with local policies, standards, and practices + Microstation proficiency + **Familiarity with Software:** Synchro, SimTraffic, HCS, ArcGIS **About WSP USA** WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
