The intern for Total Rewards, Compensation works under close supervision supporting a team of analysts during implementation, administration, and development of compensation programs including annual merit and wage adjustments, salary surveys, job evaluations and incentive plan administration. The individual in this role must have a strong interest in building their knowledge and practical experience in human resources, with a focus on compensation management.


May include, but are not limited to, the following:

Participate in special projects as assigned, including various compensation analysis and M&A activities:

* Will support compensation transition efforts for M&A activity including recent international acquisitions: Nakan and Vinnolit. This may include but is not limited to: initial data collection, compilation and analysis, drafting proposals on base pay and incentive compensation and market research.
* Will provide support on a project to create of career ladders across the company for various job families which will include both market research and coordination with HR Business Partners and managers.
* Support compensation projects related to organizational objectives such as implementing, communicating and assisting with the design of incentive and base pay programs

Learn and participate in compensation processes and analysis:

* Support compensation processes such as merit and wage increases, mid-year reviews and annual/quarterly incentive/bonus management
* Assist with participation in salary and compensation budget surveys.
* Perform financial analysis and cost-benefit analysis to determine financial impact of management initiatives and special projects
* Assist with the preparation of various monthly/quarterly reporting such as incentive accruals, payroll input files, and equity tracking/balancing reports

Provide support human resources, management and employees in compensation matters:

* Respond to inquiries regarding compensation practices and procedures; provide support to HR Business Partners in resolving compensation-related questions
* Answer incoming calls to the HR helpline and respond to questions received via email to the shared inbox
* Support Company goals of continuous improvement and operational excellence at strategic and tactical levels
* Performs the primary thinking required of the position
* Complies with all Company policies and procedures
* Perform other duties as and when assigned


* Must be enrolled in a bachelor's degree program; having completed at least the sophomore year with a minimum GPA of 3.4. Concentration should be in business, human resource management/development, finance, or related field.
* Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize work
* Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills
* Able to work independently, and coordinate with employees and managers in multiple locations world-wide
* Flexible demeanor and ability to work as a team
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and a high level of attention to detail
* Advanced working knowledge in Microsoft Office, with a particular focus on Excel is, required
* Previous experience working with an HRIS system will benefit the candidate in this role but is not required.
* General understanding of compensation practices preferred


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.


The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
