Zootopia Movie Review

“Zootopia” is a spectacular movie experience for both adults and their kids. Children can understand the meaning of never giving up on your dreams, and adults can see the subtle controversial race issue underlying the movie. The movie is fast paced so it is an easy movie to get through. And because of the plot twists and turns in the film, I never even had to reach once for my popcorn. The friendship built between the two lead characters, Bunny Hopps the rabbit and Nick Wilde the fox, demonstrates that acceptance of other people’s different upbringings is necessary and possible. The target audience for “Zootopia” are kids, but there was a strong message behind the plot that even an older audience would enjoy. Whether you have kids, or are forced to go see it with your siblings, the movie will not let you down. The film is not however anything new but it did use the theme of “A little train who could.” The main characters lived their whole lives being told they could not follow their dreams because of their prey and predator nature. I give this movie 4 out of 5 stars for a funny script that keeps the momentum of the movie going and for its ability to retain its modern appeal while still raising important questions about relevant social issues.
